This blog was not what I intially expected but I still found it to be useful as it serves as an example of using blogs as a teacher and incorporating students into using the blog. The teacher has posted important information for the students to view and use to complete tasks which I feel is a great tool in education and physical education.

This is a refreshing blog post from to me somewhat of an unlikely source. Now without stereotyping the homeschool movement I would not have thought prior to reading the post that the author would have felt they way they did. The post is in regards to competition and how competition is a natural and neccessary form of interaction that when not taken to extremes is perfectly healthy for kids. I could not agree more this new era of child rearing where everyone gets a ribbon is totally wrong. This is not how life works people. I cannot even begin to list all the life lessons that I have learned through competition be it from sports or any other type. Without those experiences I know that I would not be able to face and overcome with ease that I have some of the adversity that I have been challenged with thus far in life. A GREAT REFRESHING post.

I enjoyed reading the material for the Keys to Running a Summer Football Camp. The information was well organized and useful for a future coach that may well run his own camp someday.

Found this site and a few others that have example smartboard use ideas. This one in particular would be used for anatomy. Nice visual for students to get a better understanding of the complex human body for Physical Education or Biology/Science or even health.

A little more advanced site and a little busy to look at but might be a good tool for middle school and high school students in regards to nutrition and how to make sense of nutrition information.

An interactive site with three areas for entry including kids. Gets kids thinking about being healthy in terms that they can understand and relate to.

This is an exciting idea for a school. A school where the curriculum is based around sport and wellness. This K-12 school is health and wellness centered and incorporates other content areas to it instead of vise versa. I for one am all for this type of school as I believe in the benefits that active students can receive and take with them into other content areas such as math, science and reading. This possibility is exciting and for sure somewhere where I would love to teach! Even if your a nonbeliever in physical education I encourage you to take a look at this approach just for your own knowledge and possible broadening of your feelings towards education and physical education.

One day last spring while waiting for a late afternoon class one of my instructors in the PE department (having prior knowledge of my break between classes) approached me about being a video subject for an upcoming video skill critique. The videos below feature me performing a backward role and forward role. I did receive an A in the class I wonder if this helped? If nothing else maybe the videos will provide you with some comic relief!
