My introduction to Technology

Health costs are rising, we live in an overweight society. What can be done? The United States government is attempting to fight the battle with Healthy People 2010. Ever heard of it? I personally had never until taking a class at Washburn University. Oh and don’t let me forget to mention that Healthy People 2010 is an extension of Healthy People 2008. Again something that I had never heard of. So if the government is funding this campaign and sets lofty goals of increasing the life and lively hood of all citizens then why hasn’t everyone heard of this campaign? What is the money being spent on? I have provided a link to the Healthy People 2010 website for anyone seeking more information as I am about a positive health campaign that few are familiar with.  Below I have posted a table that shows information about the objectives of Healthy People 2010.  If image is small simply click on it until it becomes a viewable size for you.

This is another great story found on youtube that highlights one elementary school and their innovative means to getting students interested in being active.

First saw this site from a post by Dr. Pownell, but wanted to add it to my own blog as it I believe it is a great innovative PE classroom that I seek to accomplish in my own classroom. The type of activities that the students participate in are truly skills that they can use in the real world and presented to them in a manner that they do not even realize the are learning.
